Until recently, traditional braces have been the standard treatment option. They are made from a series of small, metal, or ceramic brackets cemented to the front of each tooth.
An arch wire is connected to these brackets to apply a gentle force to each tooth, gradually moving it to a new position, which over time will create an amazing and healthy smile.
During treatment we change the arch wires as required to progress the treatment.

At the start of your treatment journey with Vivaldi Smile Artisans, we will take a digital scan of your teeth with our iTero 5D Scanner to get an accurate copy of your teeth. Dr Vivaldi will then use these digital copies to curate a treatment plan and braces positioning that is especially designed for you or your child. With the help of state-of-the-art technologies, Vivaldi Smile Artisans uses an indirect bonding technique, which means we can fit multiple brackets at one time, instead of fitting them one by one. This technique is more comfortable and significantly reduces the time you or your child need to spend in the chair having your treatment. Our team will teach you how to take good care of your braces to allow us to achieve excellence in your treatment outcome.

Do I need to restrict what I eat with braces?
Unlike Invisalign treatment, you will need to be very careful with your eating choices and avoid foods that can damage your appliances. Some foods you should not eat whilst treating with braces include:- chewy food
- sticky food
- stone fruits
- hard foods that require you to bite into them

Are braces as comfortable as clear aligners?
No, clear aligners are more comfortable than braces. However, the discomfort is only temporary, and you or your child will adapt and get used to it. Patients will normally advise they feel discomfort for 2-3 days after each activation on your braces. Can I wear a mouthguard with braces? Yes! You can have a mouth guard fitted over the braces to allow you or your child to continue to enjoy your favourite sport.
